It’s that time of the year again! We are talking about the most refreshing give-back campaign that gets the whole family involved- Foster Village Lemonade Stands! This is an awesome opportunity to be a part of something amazing that feeds our souls (and quenches our thirst), and we hope you will jump in with us.
What is it?
Growing the Village is Sweet is an annual event that serves to support foster children and their families, emphasizing that they are not alone. It is also a great way to involve children in a project of generosity, and an opportunity to educate the community about the vital roles we all play in supporting vulnerable populations.
Every glass of lemonade sold supports how Foster Village equips, connects, and advocates for kids and families experiencing foster care! Some examples include 1) welcome packs to new foster families, 2) creating unique experiences at our Connection Cottage to support family reunification, and 3) supporting our ongoing support groups and therapy services to caregivers. Last summer, over 100 stands helped raise $35,000, providing crucial support to foster families!
I’m In! Now What?
There are tons of ways to participate, and every one of them creates a powerful impact on YOUR communities. First- let’s hydrate! Find your nearest stand and start sipping! With about 100 stands popping up all over town, you can find the latest on the Foster Village Map.
